Free Poker Tips – Best Bluff of My Life

By Hikerpro | March 7, 2010

I spend more time playing free poker online now than casinos, but a few years ago I was on a boozy weekend in Vegas and in my drunken state managed to pull of a poker win and pocket myself $1,000 winnings! I admit, it was pure luck that night as I wasn’t exactly playing at my sober best. Anyhow, after collecting my winnings and feeling rather pleased with myself I realised I had a tiny problem… what to do with my winnings as I didn’t want to walk around with it and I hadn’t taken a safety deposit box at my hotel. I hold a box at another hotel all year round for when I pop to Vegas in the hope of winning some money and this was my only option.

So, not wanting to keep about $1,000 in my pocket, I knew I had to walk across the street to the Horseshoe to put my money in my box. Nowadays, that wouldn’t be a problem, but as I said, at that time there were lots of undesirable characters inhabiting Downtown, and let’s just say that there was little or no security..

I didn’t think much of it until I hit the street. I then realized how dark it was, and with the street all torn up, there were no cars and virtually no people, either. Furthermore, there was a light mist falling. I was tired and thought, “Oh, what the hell. It’s only across the street – less than a block away.” So, I started my short walk.

This was the point that I was wishing I was playing free poker online rather than being out in the streets like a crazy man!

Just as I approached the corner, two big, tough-looking guys came around the corner. Both were carrying beer bottles and appeared to be very drunk and looking for trouble. As soon as they saw me, I knew what was coming. I was sure that they were on the prowl for a handout or, with no one else around, maybe something worse.

As I kept walking, they approached me as if they were going to block what was left of the sidewalk.

As they approached me, one of the men asked if I had got a couple of dollars they could have.

Now, I guess if I were an honest person, I would have said, “Well, yes. As a matter a fact, I just won a big poker tournament and have about $1,000 in my pocket. Will $2 be enough?” But instead, I stopped and said in a very loud and forceful voice, “Hey, don’t – - – - with me! I just lost $25 in there!” They both looked at me and parted like pussycats as I walked right past them.

After marching on (and totally ****ping myself) I turned around and shouted a few more comments. It was a great spur-of-the-moment bluff. Oh, I could have said, “I don’t have any money,” or given a dozen other excuses, but I don’t think that any of them would have worked quite as well as what I did. The bottom line was that these fellows wanted no part of a guy who could be that angry about losing 25 bucks.

It had to be the best bluff of my life, because I am here today retelling the story. If that bluff hadn’t worked, well I’d be lucky to be even playing free poker let alone big money!

Working Out At Home

By Hikerpro | March 7, 2010

One of the major worries for a person is spending too much money. Budgets are being carefully scrutinized by all. As a group we have grown accustomed to the better things that we were able to afford only a short time before. It is no fun to be told that we can no longer enjoy something because it costs too much. The reality is that there is not as much money to go around as there was before and something has to give.

One place that can be cut to save the budget is the health club membership. It became very popular to join a health club, but it is a monthly expense that can take a toll on a person’s budget. Often times, a person’s health club membership is underused and the money that is being spent on it is often not a good value. It is possible to get the same results without having to keep that expensive gym membership. All of the benefits that a person finds by becoming a member of a fitness club, can be recreated in the comforts of a person’s residence. Depending on how sophisticated a person wants to get with their program, a person can spend a small fortune to outfit a home gym or they can spend little or no money if they choose.

There are many stores that have a wide range of exercise equipment available for purchase Home gyms can be equipped with one or two pieces of equipment rather than having the whole array of stuff. Spend your cash wisely when buying exercise equipment, if you buy something that doesn’t last than you might be wasting your time and money on it. It is also important to consider how much space that you have available in your home for the equipment. Be aware of how your gym will look with the things that you buy, remember that you have to live in the house also and want it to remain comfortable. One way to save money on a home gym is to find used equipment that someone is selling. There are a lot of people who want to get rid of the things they bought but no longer use, and bargains can be had. A trip to the local bookstore will yield a treasure trove of books or dvd’s that can teach a person how to do the latest fitness routine or teach you how to do six pack ab exercises that will get you into the shape that you desire, or you might even find these things for free at your local library.

Another thing that can be found in libraries and book stores are material that will show you different diet and exercise routines that can teach you how to lose weight fast in the comfort of your home and these things can cost little or no money for a person, all that is required is the effort. If you can’t find the information that is needed in books or videos, go online where you can find sites that are dedicated to helping people to get fit and healthy such as the biggest loser forum which offers hints and tips for a person in addition to chat rooms where you can find the support that is needed.

The key to getting fit and healthy is not spending money. It is the ability to dedicate yourself to reaching that goal. You can buy expensive gear, but if it remains unused than the plan to get fit will ultimately fail. It doesn’t matter if you join a fitness club or not, success will always be determined by the amount of effort that is put into it. The money that is spent on the health club may not be as necessary as you think, and could be a good place to trim the fat. It might be just the extra money that you need to make ends meet and to enjoy life a little more.

The Owners The NHL Franchises Are Just About Surviving The Current Franchise Economy Struggles In What Is A Terrible Time For Economics Around The Business Sector, Together With A Brief Narrative Of The Vancouver Cannucks.

By Hikerpro | March 7, 2010

As all eyes are on the Winter Olympics, the various Franchises at home dare to imagine glory and the possibility of being champions of the NHL. We will glance at the Franchises and present details of how they started from a Franchise For Sale, endorsed all over the globe to being one of the most significant Franchises in American sports today. The North American market has been disturbed for lots of years, from lots of teams finding it difficult to pay high contracts, to a lot of teams being able to spend millions on new players. At this current time the market is more stable as great sums of money are being put away for the improving economy, as doubts have influenced the North American sporting market. All of the Franchises are fading their spending and running with their bought assets, which is having a substantial advantage on the wish of a Franchise For Sale on the market. Numerous sporting backers for lots of years have considered their Franchises as a Home Based Franchise, the sporting backers work with their team tremendously hard and they take it everywhere. This is somewhat like any other Home Based Franchise within the current market and consequently enormously necessary to a future sporting backer looking for a Franchise For Sale in the market. The backer will have the promise that the team has been well directed and cared for as if it were a Home Based Franchise.

Here is a concise narrative of one NHL Franchises that has a great history over the years incorporating changes in owners.

The Vancouver Canucks were created in 1970 by Thomas Scallen, Lyman Walters and partners as an NHL expansion franchise. But hockey had been part of Vancouver much earlier, with the Vancouver Millionaries of the Pacific Coast Hockey League gaining the Stanley Cup in 1915. The Franchises first general manager was Norman “Bud” Poile and he picked former NHL defenseman Hal Laycoe to be the Canucks first coach.

A turning point for Vancouver happened in 1987 when the team hired Pat Quinn as president and general manager. As Quinn was still under contract with the Los Angeles Kings, the Canucks paid a fine and brought the ex-NHLer aboard to turn the ship around. In his 1st amateur entry draft as GM he picked Trevor Linden with the second overall choice. Linden joined the NHL in 1988 as the youngest player in the league and made an instantaneous impact, concluding as runner up for the Calder Trophy as the league’s outstanding rookie. The team allowed the fewest goals in the regular season but were bumped off in the 1st round of the playoffs by the final Stanley Cup champions, the Calgary Flames.

In the next off-season the Canucks signed Soviet star Igor Larianov and signed up his young and upcoming companion, Pavel Bure. Bure joined the Canucks for the 1991-92 season, he broke captain Trevor Linden’s record of goals by a rookie with 34, and was soon nicknamed the “Russian Rocket” for his blazing speed and scoring abilities.

Changes continued in Vancouver as John McCaw bought bulk interest in the club, Pavel Bure was reunited with his junior team-mate Alexander Mogilny, and the Canucks located into a brand new rink – General Motors Place. The Canucks found themselves out of the Stanley Cup race early one, beaten by the Avalanche in the 1st round.

With financial unease abound, the Canucks cut back their roster of a lot of of the higher priced players. Pavel Bure was traded to the Florida Panthers for a package of players that included future star defenseman Ed Jovanovski. Mike Keenan was next in line, fired and replaced by ex-Colorado Avalanche coach Mark Crawford.

They used their high draft picks and trades to buy the Sedin twins and nurtured goalie, Dan Cloutier. The 2000-2001 season saw the end of Mark Messier’s term on the West coast as he moved back to the New York Rangers.

Free Poker Tournaments – Building Pots With Big Hands

By Hikerpro | March 6, 2010

It is a common misconception that by playing your hand slower you will win more games. Sometimes this may be true, but in many cases it isn’t, especially when you have a big hand. I see slow playing happen so much more often than necessary when I am playing both live and free poker tournaments online but I think that playing a more simple tactic works better.

In my opinion it is pretty risky to play big hands slowly. First of all, you are pretty likely to be outdrawn by the other players, and more importantly slow playing is actually, in most cases, much less lucrative than playing a hand faster.

Better Betting

If you want to build a big pot with a big hand like a set, you need to be betting. You need to raise pre-flop, bet on the flop, bet on the turn, and fire your last bullet on the river. In other words, you want to gradually get all-in.

You may think you’ll scare away opponents with continuous betting, but this won’t be the case if they hold a reasonably strong hand. Big pots happen when a big hand runs into an even bigger hand. If your opponent folds before you get all your chips in the middle, it simply wasn’t meant to be.

What you don’t want to do is scare your opponents away with ridiculously large bets or raises. Nobody will call you if you bet $800 into an $80 pot. Nobody will call you if you raise it up to $1000 after an opening bet of $40. You want to keep your bets and raises small.

A good idea is to give this approach a go when playing free online poker and free poker tournaments. This way you can gain experience in this type of play without losing real money.

You want to convince your opponent that he or she may possess a strong enough hand to stay in the game. You want your opponent to make mistakes.

Keep your fellow players pot committed. Avoid betting big and announcing to the table that you have the best hand.

There is also a downside to not betting and just checking. Obviously, you can get outdrawn on. That’s a common concern.

However, checking also fails to build up the pot. You may eventually get your opponent to bet at you, but you he or she may just check behind-and thus, you’ll be losing some profit from winning one less bet.

Exceptions to the rule

There will be occasions when it is best to slow play. For example, it’s a smart move to slow play when you flop a royal flush, a straight flush, quads, a full house, the nut flush, or the nut straight. Those are very strong hands. There’s little chance to you’ll be beat. You want to give your opponent every chance possible to bet his second best hand.

When playing against aggressive or loose players then its worth playing slow, as they are likely to bet as players check. Make the most of their aggressive play.

Yet, in most cases, you do want to bet out or raise. You want to build big pots slowly by betting every chance that you get. Remember, its well worth practicing these tips by playing free poker tournaments sites, such as NoPayPOKER.com where you wont lose any of your own money but can still win real cash. That way when you get into a higher stakes cash situation you’ll play it right and hopefully scoop it up!

The Many NHL Companies Are Coping With The Existing World Market In What Is A Terrible Stage For Sporting Franchises Around The World Counting A Short Story Of The Philadelphia Flyers.

By Hikerpro | March 6, 2010

As franchises in the National Hockey League fight for a playoff birth, the various Franchises start to think about Stanley Cup glory and the chance of collecting the cup. We will peek at the Franchises and give details of how they started from a Franchise For Sale, showed around the globe to the influential Franchises of the National Hockey League today. The sporting market has been under pressure for many years, from many teams finding it difficult to pay wages, to a lot of teams being able to spend millions of dollars. At this current moment the sporting market is more calm as great amounts of dollars are being cut back, as world market troubles have reached the hockey market. All of the Franchises are reducing their spending and working with their funds, which is having an overall benefit on the probability of a Franchise For Sale on the market. Many managers for many years have considered their Franchises as a Home Based Franchise, the managers work with their club excitedly and they take it everywhere with them. This is totally like any other Home Based Franchise within the current world market and as a result vastly important to a future manager looking for a Franchise For Sale in the sporting market. The sponsor will have the belief that the club has been well treated and cared for as if it were a Home Based Franchise.

Here is a brief story of one of the NHL Franchises that have had huge upsets over the years incorporating changes in general managers and players.

The Philadelphia Flyers were part of the first group of expansion franchises sanctioned into the NHL in 1967. The original ownership group included Bill Putnam, Jerry Wolman, and Ed Snider. The Flyers immediately acquired an American Hockey League (AHL) franchise, the Quebec Aces, giving the squad depth and experience that would be helpful in the near future. They played in a newly built building called the Spectrum. Before the end of their first season, Jerry Wolman was forced out due to financial troubles and Ed Snider gained majority control of the franchise along with his partners, Bill Putnam and Joe Scott.

The club broke through in 1994 when they got Terry Murray in as coach, Bobby Clarke as the general manager along with some on ice alterations. Lindros teamed up with John Leclair and Mikael Renberg to form the well-known “Legion of Doom” line – a mix of scoring talent, and big, physical charisma, a la the Broadstreet Bullies. The Flyers were division champs in the lockout shortened season. They beat Buffalo Sabres and New York Rangers in the playoffs, only to be defeated to that year’s eventual Stanley Cup winners, the New Jersey Devils.

The Flyers continued their regular season success – finishing first in 1995-96, but losing in the first round of the NHL playoffs to the unknown Florida Panthers. The subsequent year they finished second in the Atlantic division and moved through the playoffs to earn a place in the Stanley Cup finals. Once again they fell short, defeated by the Detroit Red Wings.

The Flyers continued to put forth good regular season performances but did not have a great deal of playoff success. Bobby Clarke’s mission for the Stanley Cup continues as the lineup evolves with players like Jeremy Roenick, Keith Primeau and Tony Amonte – a combination of talent, size, and grit.

If anyone has ever been interested in sports in college or high school, having the best basketball training available is the only way to ensure a great career. With basketball shooting in particular, the player needs to be shown and taught how to get the best from his or her body by using advanced techniques to get the best out of themselves and to perform at a higher level.

For example, in many cases the player will have some very bad habits that may affect the way he plays his game. But there is help on the market in the aid of videos and teaching aids to break these bad habits and help them to perform in a more effective and productive manner.

One video in particular gives in depth tips on where the player is making his mistakes and how to correct these faults. The kit also includes an aid to help them to develop good and effective skills with both hands. This is a must for any player who wants to become professional. Plus they will be learning new techniques to take free throws etc. In this instance, the player can take home the video and come back to the coach with a good idea of how and where he can enhance his performance.

Other visual aids will give pointers to the player on dribbling, warm up drills and angles etc while still teaching them to use the correct methods for many other techniques connected to the game.

Of course, some of the visual aids include testimony and teaching methods from some of the more experienced and famous players from many states. They show examples of how players try out different moves to incorporating proper techniques to make the most of all and any situations in the game.

Of course, and it goes without saying, that the player must be in top form in fitness and health if he hopes to make a career out of this game. Once this angle is mastered, the equipment can be removed from the basket once the player is familiar with the moves. This usually eliminates balls bouncing out of the hoop without scoring which can be a waste of time for everyone.

Some other aids to teach the player how to handle the ball correctly include a dribble glove, a dribble aid for the eyes and a glove which makes them use their finger tips to make sure that the get the technique down properly. The eye glasses, which have the bottom half of the lenses blanked out, are particularly useful since it makes them dribble while looking at the other players and is called a ‘heads up’ aid.

Iron heads Types And Features

By Hikerpro | March 5, 2010

The head from the golf club includes various elements: the hosel, where the head links towards the shaft; the face, which actually strikes the ball; the sole, which is the component closest to the soil; and also the back, that’s on the side opposite the face. Check about iron heads

Irons are designed for a higher number of shots as compared to woods. Where woods are usually optimal for long to very long shots, the shots made implementing irons range from Two hundred yards or even more, in the case of 2 irons, right down to Forty yards or less in the case of the various wedges. Club creative designers must cope with the same problems in irons as in woods, however their shorter shafts and also the less overstated swings with which they are used have concluded in several options for various kinds of players.

Simply Two-and-a-half decades back, most companies’ irons have been much the same — a blade-shaped head along with most of the weight gathered low plus the center of the club. This design gave a different main focus to shots in which the ball had been strike with the club’s sweet spot. The heads of clubs have been steel, and usually shaped by forging — hammering hot steel under superb stress. Whenever a golfer struck the ball off-center, there were hardly any inside club’s layout to avoid it coming from twisting and providing a new unsatisfactory result. Check about iron heads

Within the final Two-and-a-half decades, designers have developed clubs that have around exactly the same weight as the older clubs but have it allocated across the perimeter from the club, to ensure that the head is far more proof against off-center twisting and therefore far more forgiving of golfing swings which might be off line with a couple of millimeters. Additionally, contemporary material alloys have allowed for bigger iron heads, that boosts the dimensions from the “sweet spot,” thereby increasing the opportunity of good results having a less-than-perfect swing.

If you start looking in the golfing bag of any PGA Tour player, you’ll probably see the same sort of forged blade-style irons you would have seen 25 years ago. That’s because their concentration of weight behind the sweet spot make the most of a professional’s extremely consistent, very accurate swing. Leisure golfers, on the other hand, have embraced the perimeter-weighted iron to the good results these people get besides less consistent swings.
